My name is cheikh Tidiane Lo, I’m 35 years old, married and father of two children. I have been living in Douala in Cameroon for three years now.
I attended my primary school at Guédiawaye Islamic Bank . After obtaining my BFEM (secondary school certificate) I joined the school of arts and music which I couldn’t finish. I then went to the craft village of Guédiawaye for five (5) years. Ny older brother who in his capacity as head chef in the restaurant of the Hotel Terrou Bi,he managed to make me integrate the restaurant as a kitchen porter in the kitchen of the terrace.
After six months , I joined the kitchen to get the job and I thought needed a degree. I started cooking classes and I graduated a year later. I was promoted from kitchen porter to 3rd commis, then 2nd commis, 1st commis and then head of the fish section. In 2013, the Hotel opened the Restaurant ”Terre mer” with portions of 60 g and I was transferred to this restaurant. This is how I met four chefs including Thierry Daléson,Chef Leguenek and Chef Christophe. They all played a great role in my practice of the kitchen. My philosophy today is to highlight African culinary art, to revisit all the African dishes.
