I’m really into cooking food that is healthy, fresh, sustainable and most importantly beautiful. In my mind, food is art and we are what we eat. Even the simplest of meals should be made with aesthetics in mind. Eating good food is one of life’s greatest pleasures and I try to bring this joy to all of my clients daily.

My African roots are a source of great pride and inspiration for me. I often find myself incorporating the flavors and themes of the food I grew up eating. In recent years I have travelled to Cote D’Ivoire numerous times and many of those trips have been focused around cooking, sometimes for those less fortunate and sometimes just for fun. In December of 2014 I traveled to Africa with a couple of other chefs to show people in small villages how to cook with fresh produce and make the most of the ingredients found locally. It was an eye opening experience and really helped me get back in touch with the heritage of African food. There are many African chefs that are up and coming. Currently living in NY, I’ve found some amazing African food including one really cool Afro-Asian spot called The Cecil. Chef JJ Johnson is cooking up some mouthwatering stews there. It’s a must try.
